Monopolar Membranes
Monopolar membranes
The main components of electrodialysis modules are polymeric ion-exchange membranes. The Ion exchange membranes are nanoporous materials which functional properties are determined by the properties of the thin surface layer with a thickness from several nanometers to micrometers.
At present JSC "Schekoniazot" launched production of high-quality membranes on the classical technology on domestic resins. The company is the only Russian producer of heterogeneous monopolar ion-exchange membranes marks MK-40, MK-40L, MA-41 and MA-41P. Membranes suitable for use in electrodialysers and electrodialysis plants.
Membranes of marks MK-40, MA-41:
• reinforced by nylon polyamide and polyester:
• water-insoluble, also in weak inorganic acids and most organic solvents.
Membranes brands MK-40L:
• reinforced mylar cloth
• water-insoluble, also in weak inorganic acids and most organic solvents and strong mineral acid up to pH 0,5.
Warranty period of 2-5 years depending on the operating environment.

The size of the standard membrane sheet is 1420*450 mm. Permitted, with agreement with the customer, manufacturing of membranes of other sizes, but not more than 1420*900 mm without changing their electrochemical and physicochemical properties. Operating temperature range of membranes - 10-50 degrees of Celsius.
Membranes are used in installations for different areas:
• demineralization of whey;
• purification of sugar syrups;
• desalting and deionization of water;
• wastewater treatment emitting valuable items;
• deep purification of biological and medical products;
• decontamination of radioactive wastewater;
• concentration of wastewater containing valuable components;
• preparation of water to heat.
